Cleaning your Oven with No Harmful Chemicals or Fumes

Why do you need to clean your oven?

A dirty oven can be a potential fire risk, as burnt food can produce a lot of smoke when left to build up over time. Grease and dirt can build up within the internal fan, also increasing the risk of fire. The easiest way of decreasing fire risk in your oven is to keep your oven as clean as possible.

The oven is the second-least cleaned home appliance (washing machines are #1). Most people only bother to clean it twice a year. This often put-off job makes the oven easily one of the filthiest places in the home, with food splashes building up to create a haven for bacteria.

In general, it's recommended to deep-clean your oven every three months to keep it clean and cranking out delicious dishes time after time. If you're cooking often, you may need to clean a bit more often, whereas an oven that's used less often will likely do just fine with quarterly cleanings.

Cleaning your oven with Quick ‘n Brite

First, you want to remove any standing food. Brush out the majority of food residue using paper towels to wipe away or even a small broom or handheld nozzle on a vacuum cleaner. Make sure to use extra caution near the lighting elements and fan.

Next, apply Quick n Brite paste full strength using a wet scrub sponge or brush. Much like cleaning your fireplace, it is easiest if you split the oven into sections and clean small areas at a time. Starting towards the top, apply the Quick n Brite cleaner in small 5 to 6-inch sections using a circular scrubbing motion and work your way down the sides of the oven, and finally to the bottom. Next, repeat the same process on the oven door, again working in small sections. Remember, Quick n Brite works best when left to sit(about 10-15 minutes is best). Let Quick n Brite do the scrubbing for you! After the Quick n Brite is applied onto your oven surfaces, shut the door and turn your oven on low for 10-15 minutes. Turn off the oven and allow time for the interior surfaces to cool, then using a damp terry cloth towel simply wipe out the remaining residue in your oven. No elbow grease necessary.
