Spring Cleaning Your Home, Cleaning Checklist

A thorough Spring Cleaning of your home can feel like an overwhelming task, but it doesn’t have to be. To make it easier we are offering a few tips and a and an in-depth checklist to help you along with this task.

Don't begin without a plan. Start by making a to-do list of essential tasks, with the bigger time-consuming at the top, and smaller, easier jobs at the bottom.
Work through your house room by room. Clean from one side of the room to the other, and from the ceiling to the floor. This system allows you to clean thoroughly without missing any areas.
Tidy and declutter rooms first, so it’s easier when you dust and vacuum.

To Do in Every Room

Wash Baseboards, door ceilings, windowsills, doors, and walls.

Wash window treatments, drapes, etc. (add a Super Shot of Quick’n Brite to your laundry).

Dust blinds.

Wash Windows - inside and out (Use Quick’n Brite light spray*).

Dust overhead lights - replace any burnt out light bulbs.

Dust and/or vacuum light fixtures and lamp shades.

Your Kitchen

Clean and organize pantry.

Wash kitchen cabinets. (use Quick’n Brite Light Spray*)

Deep Clean Oven (use Quick’n Brite Paste Full Strength).

Clean Stovetop (use Quick’n Brite Heavy Spray formula**).

Clean fridge inside and out - vacuum and mop underneath & behind it.

Clean inside of dishwasher.

Your Living Room

Dust and wash all mirrors, frames, and decorative items. (Use Quick’n Brite Light Spray*)

Vacuum all upholstery & all lamp shades.

Dust and clean furniture and fixtures.

Vacuum and shampoo carpets (add a super shot of Quick’n Brite to your carpet cleaner).

Mop and wax any hardwood if necessary.

Your Bedrooms

Wash all bedding. (add a super shot of Quick’n Brite to the washer)

Flip Mattress - if using pillow top, rotate mattress.

Remove anything stored under bed you don't want anymore.

Your Bathrooms

Clean and disinfect bathtub and shower.

Clean grout and tile. (use Quick’n Brite paste full strength)

Wash bathmats, scrub floors.

Wipe faucets, drains and showerheads. (Use Quick’n Brite light spray formula*)

Wash and/or replace shower liners and shower curtains.

Outside your Home

Clean front door and walkways.

Scrub decks and patio

Pressure wash walkways and driveway. (add a super shot of Quick’n Brite to your pressure washer for better results)

Remove mold, moss, and mildew.

Wash outdoor furniture.

Wash all exterior windows. (Use Quick’n Brite light spray formula*)

Window Cleaning Tips

Outdoor Windows

To clean your outdoor windows, first wet the window surface, then apply Quick 'n Brite heavy solution* with a wet sponge, let sit for a few minutes, then rinse clean with a hose. The longer the solution can sit on the windows, the better job it will do of cleaning the surface, however, you want to make sure and rinse off your windows before the product dries. (It will not harm your windows if it does dry on them, but you may have to use a sponge and water to rinse them off instead of simply hosing them clean).

Indoor Windows

Make the Quick’n Brite Light Solution*, then spray your indoor windows and wipe clean with a dry microfiber cloth(part of the Quick’n Brite Kit). If streaking should occur your solution maybe to strong, simply add more water to your spray bottle and repeat.

Other/Misc.

Update all your house first aid kits. Toss expired medication while sorting other medication.
Clean any necessary winter clothing or items. Store all winter items for next year.
Donate any unused clothes items to Goodwill, The Salvation Army, or other local community organizations.
Check expiration date on fire extinguishers.
Clean all phone & computer screens, keyboards and mouse:

Use compressed air to remove crumbs, dust and other particulates.
Use a dampened microfiber cloth and wipe the keys down.
Use dry microfiber to remove any leftover moisture. (Use Quick’n Brite Screen Cleaner)
