Why you Should Clean your Exercise Bike

You bought your exercise bike for a good reason, to workout, sweat, get in shape, sweat some more and hopefully lose weight, after sweating some more. That sweat is your proof that you worked hard, and are accomplishing your goals, but don’t let that sweat damage your bike!

What you Need to Clean your Exercise Bike

1. Microfiber cloth: This lets you wipe down your bike without scratching it.
2. Gentle, non-abrasive, all-purpose spray cleaner: This will help remove any sweat, grease, and grime. Quick ‘n Brite light cleaning solution is ideal for this job.(see mixing directions below)
3. Microfiber screen-cleaning cloth: This will safely remove smudges, smears, and dirt from the touchscreen, without scratching it. We recommend you use our Screen Cleaner as well. 

Wipe Clean After Every Ride

After each ride: Wipe your Bike down with a damp microfiber cloth. After every three to five rides.  Clean your Bike with a damp microfiber cloth and mild household cleaner, like Quick ‘n Brite light solution. Avoid any abrasive cleaning products because these can scratch your bike or screen. You can use light cleaning spray for the frame, resistance knob, seat, handlebar and accessories.

Avoid the Chemicals

Products containing bleach, ammonia, peroxide and alcohol can be especially damaging to yiou bikes hardware and frame.

Cleaning your Touch Screen

Your touch screen will get dirty and greasy naturally, just from touching it with your fingers. We recommend you wipe down your touchscreen using a chemical free glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth. The Quick ‘n Brite Screen cleaner is perfect for this job (and the many other screens in your home). I’ll clean the screen at least once every week.

Don’t Forget the Mat

I have a protective mat under my bike at home and this is where a lot of my sweat ends up. I clean the mat under my bike after every sweaty ride. This helps keep the exercise room smelling nice!
